This two-hour lecture provides an in-depth review of the latest advancements in implant therapy for edentulous patients. Attendees will explore current workflows, from initial patient assessment and digital planning to surgical placement and prosthetic restoration. The presentation will cover innovative treatment options, including fixed and removable implant supported restorations, guided surgery techniques, and digital workflows that enhance precision and predictability. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based protocols, case selection criteria, and managing common challenges to achieve optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes.
By the end of the lecture, participants will be equipped with a thorough understanding of modern treatment strategies and the latest tools available to deliver successful implant therapy for edentulous patients.

About Dr. John Tsourounakis
DDS, Cert. Perio, MS, FRCD(C)
Dr. John M. Tsourounakis graduated from Aristotle University in Greece with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2008. He completed his Masters Degree in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans, College of Business, in 2011, graduating with distinction with an award in academic excellence. He then obtained his specialty Certificate in Periodontics in 2012, and in 2013 he completed a postgraduate Fellowship in Dental Implantology, from Louisiana State University, School of Dentistry in New Orleans. Dr. Tsourounakis maintains a private practice at Southwest Specialty Group, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and is a clinical instructor at the graduate periodontics program of University of Manitoba, College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
About Dr. Jose Viquez
DDS, Cert. Prostho., FRCD(C)
Dr. Viquez graduated in 2010 from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica as a general dentist. He joined his father in private practice briefly before moving to the U.S. to further his education in prosthodontics. In 2013, he received a certificate in advanced prosthodontics after completing a three-year residency program at Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Dentistry and a fellowship in oral surgery. Dr. Viquez is a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and completed implant surgical training at the Misch International Institute. Dr. Viquez is currently in private practice in Winnipeg at the Southwest Specialty Group.
